Pedaling to Planegg ... for a lunch with friends
Friday April 13, 2018
Beautiful weather, another day for a bike ride. Today we decided it would be nice to start pedaling from the front door. The trains are great for expanding the radius of our day tours, but they do involve working our way through the train station and weaving our way around all the people. I don't want to complain about our luxury of being able to take our bikes on trains but there is something about setting out from your front door that is more organic - or something like that. So this will not be a segment of the circle around Munich, just a there-and-back outing to visit friends in Planegg, a ride of about 17 km southwest of Munich.
Our route out of town took us through the Olympic Park to Pasing, then through the Stadtpark to suburbs of Munich which are situated along the Würm River, the Würmtal. I lived there for about 20 years when my children were growing up. It was and is a nice residential area where kids can go out to play without supervision.
We met Klaus and Sabine and went out for lunch. And guess what I had. Do I have to tell you?
Do I have a new theme for my rides? The 'pizza pedaler' maybe?

And that was it. A lovely ride on a lovely day.
