August

After so much sun in July, it was hard to believe that August would be such a sunny and hot month. I am sure it broke some meteorological records. At the beginning of the month we were still in Alsace, touring in a heat wave that in France was even greater than back home. We managed to ride before noon and holed up for the rest of the afternoon, thus enjoying the cool mornings and avoiding the heat later on in the day. The rest of the month back home we had cooler temperatures and many excellent days for riding our bikes.

July kilometers: 784 on 24 days
