Enns- Ybbs: Easy riding
Thursday April 7, 2011, 70 km - Total so far: 200 km
I hadn't expected such glorious weather. After not too many kilometers I could change the long cycling pants for short ones and take off the long sleeved shirt.

It wasn't an exciting day, but very pleasant. We stayed on the south bank and much of the time the bike path took us away from the Danube.
We rode up to the town of Wallsee. It was a nice little climb to get there and without the motor I would have had to push my bike most of the way up - that is, I probably wouldn't have gone up at all but with the e-assist it was very feasible without pushing. After a picnic on the town square and a few photos, we were again on our way.
We crossed the bridge for a look at Grein, again a slight detour that we might not have wanted to make without the boost our motors were giving us. We had a look at the historical buildings and felt it was the right time of day for coffee and cake. Afternoon coffee is a German ritual which we are rather partial to.
Back on the south bank, the route was very scenic with the granite mountainside reaching almost to the river, leaving just enough room for the path.
Ybbs was our destination for the day. We cruised around the historic part of town on its cobblestone streets, very picturesque and very bumpy, then found a room in "Gasthof Zum Braunen Hirschen", 60 € including breakfast.
