Maun and David and the E-bike Experiment
Tuesday May 22, 2018
We have visitors from Salt Lake City. They are exploring Munich and surroundings as well as giving e-bikes a try for the first time. They were able to rent two not-so-new e-bikes at Mikes Bikes and we went for a spin in the English Garden and then along the Isar to Poschinger Weiher, a quiet little lake about ten kilometers north of Munich.
After our picnic at the Poschinger Weiher beer garden, we went in search of a hill so Maun and David could put the e-bikes to a real test. So far our ride had been flat as a pancake. We chose the little climb up the Olympiaberg in the Olympic Park which has a short but steep section. It seems the rentals needed some tuning or just weren't good enough. They failed the test. Getting off and pushing those heavy bikes was the only way to get to the top!
