A hike: Weeds and wild orchids
Thursday June 13, 2013
Today we get out our walking poles and try the trails. We haven't done any hiking for years, but Janos has now had his second knee replacement and we want to give it a try. The morning is still very cool when we set out, but we don't need our fleece jackets very long. The sun is strong and we are soon sweating our way up the hills.

Walking is even a better pace for seeing the details along the path than riding by on a bicycle. Sometimes walking is even too fast. How is that? Well, once I choose a subject to photograph, I need time and I'm not even walking any more. But today is more a walk than a photo shoot. It is probably the longest hike we've taken in years - which isn't saying much.
We are home for lunch and feast on tomatoes, green peppers, salami, cheese and bread. Our van has a fridge, what a luxury!
