Another hot day: A walk and a swim

Rovinj is truly a pretty town with lots of atmosphere. In spite of the extreme heat, we rode our bikes there for another saunter through the cobbled streets. The midday sun was unmerciful and the strong light was harsh.
Rovinj is truly a pretty town with lots of atmosphere. In spite of the extreme heat, we rode our bikes there for another saunter through the cobbled streets. The midday sun was unmerciful and the strong light was harsh.
We walked some and took some pictures but we didn't last long. We soon gave in for a meal in a shady restaurant and then headed back to our cool camp site.
Here we are on the beautiful Istrian coast and believe it or not, today was the first time we went swimming! I guess we are just not beach people, also not terribly enthusiastic swimmers. Another reason for our reluctance was the construction going on along the waterfront which didn't make the approach to the water too attractive. However, we felt it would be almost embarassing to have been here without having gone swimming even once, so we marched down the hill for our first taste of the Mediterranean for a long time. The water was incredibly warm and although I am a hopeless wimp when it comes to cold water, I had no problem jumping in. It might not be my favorite bathing spot, but the water was lovely. We decided we weren't yet finished with the Istrian coast.
