Bridges in April

The Challenge of the Month is sponsored by Bill Stone on the Cycle 365 website. The May challenge was bridges - "Take a photo of a bridge, any bridge, large or small. Include your bicycle in the photo. Optionally, include your smiling (or grumbly) face and/or companion(s)."

The Challenge was announced in April and I got to work, collecting many images that weren't eligible, it being the wrong month. Cycling along the Danube there were more than enough bridges to photograph. I've made a selection.

Leaving Regensburg, grey sky but fine for cycling. In the background is the Stone Bridge, (Steinerne Brücke), a 12th-century bridge across the Danube. It is a masterwork of medieval construction and an emblem of the city.
