Bridges in May

The Challenge: Take a photo of a bridge, any bridge, large or small. Include your bicycle in the photo. Optionally, include your smiling (or grumbly) face and/or companion(s).

The Challenge of the Month has officially begun. The first five days of the month we were still on tour in Lower Bavaria and I got some more shots of bridges over the Danube, Vils and Isar. At the end of the month were cycling along the Lech - more bridges.

An arch made out of beer crates - this way to the Beer Bike Path! The bridge in the background crosses the Danube at Vilshofen.

Speedy Gonzalez - We had lunch in Vilshofen and crossed the bridge back to the Danube Bike Path and continued on to Passau.

Arriving in Passau, we cross the Danube on the Kachlet Dam. The power plant Kachlet, also Kachletkraftwerk or Kachletwerk, is a dam with double lock and hydroelectric power plant .

The next morning we leave Passau following the same route, across the Kachlet Dam.

We now follow the Valley of the Vils - and I have only one picture of a bridge over the lovely river, and not a very interesting picture. But I had to include at least one bridge over the Vils.
Picture
We have now reached the Isar which we will follow to the starting point of our tour in Landshut. Theoretically, we could follow the Isar all the way back to Munich.

On our way to Landshut along the Isar. Can you see which way the wind is blowing? Yippee!
More bridges: On our four-day ride along the Romantic Road, we followed the Lech much of the time.
