January: Too Cold?
Last year I had zero rides in January and one ride in February. This year I decided to go for a little winter cycling. Why not? Well, for one thing, my hands always got painfully cold when I was out in temperatures around 0°C. My feet were ok, I had windproof shoes and wool socks. On the advice of good friends over at Cycle 365 I got some proper cycling gloves for the winter and was all set.
The first half of the month we were in Spain, but between January 16 and January 31, I cycled on 13 days. Come on folks, let's hear that applause! The rides weren't long but I decided anything would count as long as it was more than just doing my grocery shopping.
