Or in English - We're Fed Up! That was the motto of today's demonstration and parade. Hoping to have influence on the upcoming elections for the Bavarian Landtag on October 10, a large demonstration was held here in Munich. The title was “Mia hams satt”, Bavarian dialect for “We’re fed up” and was to call attention to environmental issues. Most of the slogans revolved around factory farming, bee mortality, air pollution and the use of pesticides. I don’t know how many participants there were but it looked like a big turnout. I rode there on my bike and marched a bit in solidarity, then stood to watch the parade pass by. It was a mild, sunny day and samba drummers were there to cheer on the crowds with their contagious rhythms. p.s. On the following morning I read in the news that there were an estimated 18,000 participants.
